Jacob A. Collins

Jacob A. Collins is a South Jersey attorney whose background includes experience in criminal, family, civil, and landlord-tenant matters throughout the New Jersey court system. Drawing on his judicial clerkship, legal research, and mediation experience, Jacob approaches each matter with careful preparation, practical judgment, and an understanding of the sensitive issues that often arise between adverse parties.

Born and raised in South Jersey, Jacob graduated from Eastern Regional High School before attending Temple University, where he double-majored in History and Greek and Roman Classics. He graduated from Temple in 2020 and went on to earn his law degree from Rutgers Law School in Newark.

While at Rutgers Law School, Jacob served as a criminal procedure research assistant to Professor George C. Thomas III. He also interned for the Honorable Thomas J. Walls, J.S.C., in the Mercer County Family Division, where he gained valuable insight into New Jersey family court proceedings and the judicial decision-making process.

Following law school, Jacob served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Niki Arbittier, J.S.C., in the Cumberland County Criminal Division. During his clerkship, he worked closely with the Court on a wide range of criminal matters and gained firsthand experience with courtroom procedure, motion practice, and the effective presentation of legal arguments. Jacob also facilitated settlements and mediated disputes in the Special Civil Part and Landlord-Tenant Court.

These experiences strengthened his ability to analyze complicated legal and factual issues, communicate effectively with opposing parties, and develop practical and creative solutions to nuanced problems. Whether a matter requires careful negotiation or litigation, Jacob understands the importance of listening to the client, identifying the central issues, and developing a strategy tailored to the client’s objectives.

Outside the office, Jacob is an accomplished guitarist and enjoys traveling, watching movies, and spending time with his girlfriend and their cat. He is also a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has trained in boxing for more than 16 years.
